Buyer's Center |

A
home is a place to call your very own. For many people, the best reasons to buy
a home are the financial advantages:
- Tax Benefits – The interest you will pay on your home loan is usually deductible.
- Increased Value – Your mortgage payment is a monthly investment in your financial
future. Over time, you accumulate equity in your home. You can use this equity to
finance vacations, large purchases, college and even a new home!
- Stable Housing Costs – As a renter, you can expect regular rent increases. As a
homeowner, your payments can remain unchanged throughout the entire time you own
the home.
Here's what a Buyer should expect in their real estate transaction. I have put these
items in the order they typically occur. Remember that every transaction is unique
and you may have to address these issues in a different order. I have also put together
a guide called "What a Buyer Can Expect" that I wrote and had my current clients
edit for me. The guide is FREE, you can order it below.
The first thing you need to do is find a Real Estate Consultant that you trust.
This is one of the most important aspects of the transaction. If you have a pre-existing
relationship with an agent or you have a friend, family member or co-worker who
can refer you to a reputable agent, listen to what they have to say. It is important
to do this before you start looking for homes or you may end up with the Seller’s
agent representing you. Keep in mind the Seller’s agent’s primary obligation is
to the Seller. You may want to select your own agent.
The Ideal Real Estate Professional...
- Understands your wants and needs.
- Is professional and dedicated to exceeding your expectations.
- Knows the area where you want to live.
- Does not try to get you to buy more home than you can afford.
- Is a Realtor® - A member of the National Association of Realtors.
- Has excellent references from other clients.
- Treats you with respect.
- Is named Vic! (Okay, I added that one in.)
Don’t be afraid to interview several agents for the job of finding you a new home.
Remember, they are working for you. Your relationship should be one of mutual respect
and trust. It’s easy to develop a life-long friendship when you have that kind of
relationship with your agent.
Agents in California are allowed to charge buyers for their services. I don’t charge
my buyers for anything. I depend on you to refer your friends and family to me for
the same personal service that you are receiving. That is the only “compensation”
I ask for. It is my goal to develop a business that is By Referral Only.
